Grid Referencing Maths Game - Feral Animal Hunt

Grab this FREE no-prep, printable maths basic activity that combines grid referencing, as well as addition, subtraction and multiplication skills. It is a great resource relief/substitute teachers to have in their bank of activities and is a fun way to engage students whilst teaching mathematical skills and concepts.

Students will need to help Australia's native animals by placing traps for the feral animals on the grid - they also need to add some native animals too! The teacher then calls out grid references and students cross them off their grid. Once the teacher has called out a desired number of grid references, students will then need to add up their feral animals, and deduct for any native animals they trapped. The student with highest score wins.

HOW CAN YOU USE THIS PRODUCT?

Print out enough sheets for each student. Relief teachers can use this as a math's activity when no work is left, or it can be used as a warm-up game when exploring grid references.

This is a great resource to have on hand in case you have a substitute. It provides a simple task for your students, but gives them the same educational value as if you were there!
